Co-founder Saule shares why true hospitality and caring for the local community are the core of our family business.

Our company name means "Shepherd's House," and it is more than just a beautiful name. In Kyrgyz tradition, a shepherd's home in the mountains is a symbol of true comfort and open doors. It is always simple and warm, and a tired traveler is always given the best seat by the fire. We wanted to give this exact feeling of home to every guest.

I grew up here. I know our culture and every hidden mountain trail. My husband Jonathan brought his British army experience to our team—he knows all about high quality standards, safety, and attention to detail. Together, we are a bridge between two worlds. Jonathan knows what travelers from the US or Europe expect, and I know how to show them the real, authentic Kyrgyzstan.

We never wanted to do mass tourism. To us, a guest is a person with a story, not just a number. Our motto is very simple: 'Come as a tourist – leave as a friend.

We love making things cozy with our own hands. It could be fixing up an old wagon to make a quiet place for you to sleep, or just drinking tea and talking before a long hike. While Jonathan guides the groups high in the mountains, I make sure every little detail of your trip is perfectly planned and comfortable.

But Shepherd's House is more than just a business for us. We live in the Ak-Suu district, and we want our village to do well. We believe in honest tourism, so we give 10% of our profits every year to charity and to help our local community. By taking care of our home, we are creating a place you will want to return to. We warmly welcome you to our world.
